Engagement of Partners for the Provision, Curation, and Distribution of Start-up Kits to participants under the BizBox Project

The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is implementing the Business in a Box (BizBox) Project, aimed at supporting youth, women, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through entrepreneurship training, access to resources, and business start-up support.

As part of the project’s support package, participants under the Apprenticeship to Entrepreneurship (A2E) and Agriculture and Agribusiness to Entrepreneurship (AA2E) streams will be equipped with start-up kits to enable them to transition effectively from training into business operations.

The key objective of this engagement is to curate, package, and distribute appropriate start-up kits to selected participants of the BizBox Project across Ghana, ensuring that each kit is aligned to the trade, vocational, or agribusiness needs of the participants.

Scope of Services

The Partership (“the Services”) will include, but not be limited to:

  • Collaborating with GEA to finalize specifications for start-up kits tailored to each trade area (A2E/AA2E).
  • Identifying, sourcing, and assembling high-quality tools, equipment, and materials required for the start-up kits.
  • Establishing transparent systems for kit procurement, packaging, and distribution.
  • Coordinating with GEA regional offices to ensure timely delivery of kits to participants.
  • Ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality control, and durability of all procured items.
  • Submitting monthly progress updates and a final report detailing kit distribution, challenges, and lessons learned.

The duration of the assignment is expected to be 24 Months (renewable annually) with continuation based on performance and project needs. The expected start date is July 2025.

Interested Firms must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • A legally registered company (attach registration/incorporation documents).
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in logistics, procurement, supply chain management, or similar assignments.
  • Evidence of successfully executing at least two (2) similar assignments with government agencies, NGOs, or donor-funded projects in Ghana or West Africa.
  • Demonstrated capacity in curating and distributing tools, equipment, or inputs for youth, women, and PWD-focused programmes.
  • Technical and managerial capability with qualified staff in logistics, procurement, and quality assurance.
  • Evidence of strong financial management and reporting systems.

Note: Key Experts will not be evaluated at the shortlisting stage.

A partner will be selected in accordance with the Quality Based Selection (QBS) method.

Submission of Expressions of Interest

The Ghana Enterprises Agency now invites eligible partners firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in partnering to provide the Services. Interested firms should submit:

  • A cover letter expressing interest.
  • A company profile highlighting relevant experience.
  • Proof of legal status/registration.
  • Evidence of at least two similar completed assignments.
  • Any other supporting documents demonstrating capacity to deliver the assignment.

Expressions of Interest must be delivered in written form in person to the address below no later than 8th April, 2025.
