PILLAR 5: Institutional Strengthening, Policy, and Regulatory Support
A robust implementation strategy for the recently developed National MSME and Entrepreneurship Policy, as well as enforcement of the Local Economic Development Policy, aims to bring economic empowerment and support to disadvantaged communities, individuals, and the local economy, including PWDs. The pillar will focus on building robust institutional capacity and systems to support GEA’s operations and push for pro-poor policies and regulations through a system that ensures the government has a strong focus on policies that support the impoverished, rather than the privileged few. This component will also hinge on providing regulatory support from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), and Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) among others, to ensure that participants comply with regulatory requirements and standardization to enter the market.
